Image shortlisted for Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2015. This image I wanted to get very close to the real thing, the only exception is the mountains which are brighter than they should, but for this image with the aurora being so prominent It kinda needed something extra to pull it all together. Image captured in Skjervøy, Troms, Northern Norway.
Sometimes the right conditions just presents itself in a neatly wrapped package from nature, and if you are at the right place all you have to do is capture the moment. With a sliver of the midnight sun hitting the top of the mountain while most of the landscape is colored by the clouds having this cool tone it really was a a one of a kind moment. There are dried up seaweed in between the stones, dirt, sticks and branches that all served well for the composition and title of this image. Captured in Nordreisa, Troms, Northern Norway.
