The northern lights forming a beautiful corona overhead and this was by far the strongest aurora of the night. Skjervøy with its mountain and long beaches is a remarkable place to photograph and this is one of my absolute favourite places to go to. Image captured in Skjervøy, Troms, Northern Norway.
During this time of year, this inner area of the ocean gets filled up with ice and the tide keeps moving the ice around, so it is never the same if you come back the next day. 5 mornings I kept coming back to shoot this area, hoping for some nice skies, not only was it nice, it was some of the coolest clouds I have seen in a long time. Winter tend to be quite long lasting in Northern Norway, even in May there is snow and ice, sometimes even in June. A really cold breeze coming from the valley behind here made having a fire a necessity and having a warm cup of coffee when out shooting just makes the day.
