Image shortlisted for Astronomy Photographer of the year 2014. If someone asks what I remember most about this night my reply would be "brrrrrrrrrrr...... Cold". It was really cold, but it brought a really nice benefit, making the air so clear actually allowing to shoot the image in a way Id normally would not do and still come out pin sharp. That and getting the milky way, the northern lights and the full moon in the image has made this one of my absolute best night time captures.
A slow and beautiful sunrise, after having photographed all around this lake all night the highlight was this sunrise, just magnificent.
Every image is in its own way a journey, both physically and mentally, as a photographer you are always trying to bring a little something of yourself into the images and this in particular stands as something I can look at and think about the journeys that has been and the ones to come. Sometimes you get those deep moments when out photographing, but all those different moments has an effect on the images you take, I feel it is always for the positive. Image captured at Josvannet, Nordreisa, Northern Norway.
