Not that you would see it very clearly with the naked eye, but the camera captures the effect of the light pollution coming from below the mountain making the aurora that is fading away very orange at the bottom. To me it felt like the big and small tree was reaching towards the aurora.
Early autumn and while not having fully dark sky the sun having still an impact of the sky adding more blue and purple to the aurora than usual. Getting that link between earth and space is simply a factor of luck, getting a shape quite simular to the tree in the frame was what I was hoping for and someone sent me some luck on this night and I got it.
Majestic and beautiful, the Lyngen Alps rarely dissapoints, especially with such bright moonlight and aurora. I was shooting at this location with a fellow friend and photographer, since he had to get to work we did not have much time, but both of us was going "Oh, just one more shots" like 20 or so times, it made him late for work, but it was just too beautiful to not stay a little longer.
